New York July Exhibit: Max Hammond

Contemporary artist Max Hammond finds words as inviting as paint, offering pathways to explore worlds that didn’t previously exist, prompting emotional responses or sparking new interests. Complex and layered both in approach and concept, Hammond’s latest works are inspired by a quirk in the English language he enjoys, the Contronym.  In his upcoming show, The Contrary world of Contronyms, each of Hammond’s paintings has a contronym for a title.

His works encourage the viewer to participate to discover meaning, each person’s perspective reveals insights new and often intense.

We hope you will join us for the show opening reception: Thursday, July 7th from 6-9 pm at Bonner David New York to experience for yourself Hammond’s fascinating new canon of work, where he invites viewers to immerse themselves in paintings that can go in opposite directions, full of complexity and juxtaposition.
